Global Organic Textile Standard

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) stands for ecology and social responsibility – just like Hans Höffele Industriewatte GmbH. We are certified according to GOTS since 2013. This is a worldwide standard for the processing of textiles made of organic natural fibers.

The aim is to ensure a sustainable manufacturing of textile products. In addition to social criteria, environmental requirements have to be met along the entire textile production chain.

Company audits and certification of processing plants, manufacturers and traders are performed by independent, accredited institutes on the basis of the GOTS monitoring system.

Only textile products with at least 70 % organically produced natural fibers can get the GOTS certification. All the processing plants have to meet the minimum social criteria.

You can read more about GOTS on www.global-standard.org.

French Wool Association

Our French sheep wool is marked by the label „Laine de France“, which guarantees the french origin and the european processing of the wool. The label is controlled by farmers, traders and processing companied at the French Wool Association.

Due to its bulkiness, French Wool is used for bedding, carpets, garments and insulation products. The bulkiness is an advantage of the mix of different sheep races as well as the weather and geographical position. This French wool is also called „Plein Air“ which means „Outdoor“ because the sheep live outside all year round.
